Mims - This is why I'm hot (the reggae remix is even better)

Bow Wow/R Kelly - Flirt

(don't know the artist) - Throw some D's on that B***h

I also really like Andre 3000's intro on the remix to You by Lloyd, and Lil Wayne's intro on the remix to Poppin by Chris Brown.

There are probably more but I'm listening to the radio right now so I can't think of more while other songs are playing. Enjoy!

Korean underground hip hop?

Do you know any good Korean underground hip hop songs or artists?

I know how to revive hip hop...?

This is just a theory. But what if we get stations that used to play rap like kiss FM to play the new underground alternative hip hop records. Not many but just the best ones. When good music comes to light, that'll draw the currently ignorant into real hip hop and provide that diversity that has been missing. Hot 97 and all the other radio stations will see that it reaches listeners and start playing more concious records.

Is this a fairy tale or could it work?

I know how to revive hip hop...?my myspace

It could work, but Kiss FM doesn't even touch Rap anymore. They play songs with a Rap verse in it, but take the Rap verse out, and Hot 97 and Power 105 will not change their play list unless it can increase listenership (they don't want to risk it). Your idea could work, but radio stations do not want to risk losing viewers because that equals less ad revenue.

Unless "new underground alternative hip hop" artist or their record labels can and are willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to push a new single (Pay-for-Play, legal payola) , they can't receive commercial spin on FM radio. U have independent and pirate radio stations that play a variety, but they may never reach Hot 97 status. You have an idea, but getting the variety in radio that u want to the masses will be hard (especially when it's not popular). I do believe it will happen one of these days. I'm getting tired of the monotony.

I'm sorry but Hip Hop is dead... : (
Well im not sure but hip hop is not dead like the rapper nas says. many people belive its a fairy tale because hip hop and rap curse too much.
It could work but have fun cause I don't know the stations that are going to play those songs for you. You going to have to call them 24/7 and ask them to play those songs, eventually they are going to tell you that there are other songs they want to play and that are there bunch of people complaining.
hop hop isnt dead and i think u have a markatable idea
Jip hop doesn't need to be revived. If anything rock does. Hip Hop and Rap sucks.
it could work...the station that I listen to sometimes plays songs from bands I've never heard of...
man i'd love it if that would happen, but we are not going to see that. Right now, our best hope is that the public catches onto the best mainstream artists or best major label artists (i.e. common, pharoahe monch, etc.) and hope they get major radio play. Common is not even getting major play and the album's due in a month. Pharoahe is on SRC/Universal but you're not seeing many promotions. There are many other examples of big league artists getting no play. I definitely agree that maybe we should have the biggest underground local acts on a radio show a couple times a week. Like DC/VA/MD has Kenn Starr, Oddisee, etc that they could play a few songs off their albums or something. Oh well, just hope that it changes. I wonder if radio stations actually take requests......
OR we can stop listening to hip hop to begin with. I personally dont beleive that it is the kind of music that needs to be pumped into young people. We as a society need to listen to the words of some of these songs, and ask ourselves is it worth introducing anti christian, pro promiscuity, pro drug, pro sin music that glorifies the "gangsta" life. I dont think so. I think you should sit down for a good hour or lifetime with the good BOOK and learn some REAL values. Learn what should really be glorified in life. God bless and I'll pray for you to find Jesus Christ and be saved from your sins. That you will realize the error of your ways and that you will find peace in Him!
umm in Dallas they already do that. They only play the like 3or4 of the newest or old (like from 2002) hip hop or rap songs
Saigon is dropping a track with Jay-Z and he is a socially conscious rapper... he might get radio play because of jay-z and its his single.... i mean Papoose had to drop a track with SNoop Dogg to get record play......

Why Does Hip Hop/Rap glamorize life in the ghetto?

I've never lived in the ghetto and have no desire to. From my understanding, life in the ghetto is the pits. You are poor and subject to a life of violence and drugs.

So why does Hip Hop/Rap glamorize it, saying it is real life? Not one of those rappers lives in the ghetto, and it's not a highly valued way of life, and it IS NOT normal. People should aspire to get out, not live the past and make it out to be better than it was.

Why Does Hip Hop/Rap glamorize life in the ghetto?layouts for myspace

Some of hip hop/rap is telling a story of where the artist came from and to show that they haven't forgotten their roots/inspiration. But to some extent it glamorizes the violence/fast money and drugs which is a negative. It seems to be a marketing ploy as well since some rappers have been found out so to speak that they didn't live in the inner city but in the suburbs!! lol...

Why Does Hip Hop/Rap glamorize life in the ghetto?famous myspace myspace.com

just because people rap about doesn't mean it's true drugs can be anywhere as well as violence a majority of the rappers rapping about hasn't spent a minute in the "ghetto" they just rap about what they think goes on there
I never heard of any artist "glamorizing" any life in the ghetto. They talk about how they went from rags to riches though ~ maybe you have a hard time understanding. Get hooked on phonics. ~ It worked for me!
kind of ironic isnt it? because in the videos, you see fancy cars and homes. i dont know why it became that way, because early hip hop was more about dancing and having a good time

dawn18415- i have to diagree, i live in a (as some would say) affluent neighborhood and the teenagers listen to more eminem and 50 cent then probably those in the ghetto, also dressing up their cars like the videos
They do this because they think it sounds hard core, it makes them sound like nobody's been thorugh what they have. Also, sometimes they're trying to relate to the people who really do live in the ghetto and live in poverty. A lot of artists rap about this because that's what people want to hear, and most of them haven't ever lived there
poor people like to draw attention to them selves.
because they are not as smart as whites and since they are poor they can't glamorize thier life in the good nieghborhood since they can't afford to live with the uppercrust.

Has any one tried Hip Hop ABS before? Will this help me lose weight???

I am 20years old and 5''2 and 264lbs. I am trying to lose about 130-134lbs. I started my diet on March 31st and I eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks (Both Healthy) and I dont eat anything after 9pm. I was exercising 2 times a day 42 minutes each time and in a day I was drinking about 4 16.9oz bottles of water but now I just got the 3 disc Hip Hop ABS set the Last Minute Abs, Secrets for Abs, and Ab Sculpt and I was thinking about doing the Hip Hop ABS 2 times a day and still eating right. I was also thinking about trying the Slimquick Hoodia powder mix that u put in your water. I have tried the Slimquick pills before that was 2 years ago and I had lose 75lbs but I gained the 75lbs right back in it put me right back at 264lbs right where I started I think thats because I stop exercising and I stop my diet. My current weight is 264lbs, My healthy weight is 104-137lbs, My current BMI is 48 (Obese), My ideal BMI is 24 (Healthy) and my weight is to lose between 127-137lbs. Is this good?????

Has any one tried Hip Hop ABS before? Will this help me lose weight???fun myspace.com

Hip Hop Abs will definitely help. Any form of exercise will help if you keep with it. Don't resort to the Slimquick or anything, you don't need it.

Here are some weight-loss tips:

Diet is the MOST IMPORTANT THING. Here is a healthy shopping list:

Has any one tried Hip Hop ABS before? Will this help me lose weight???cool myspace myspace.com

There are some more free Hiphop Abs videos at http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1396691RFRxQ... , HipHop abs mostly targets the ab area though, if you like them then go ahead just don't ever stop doing it, because then you'll gain more weight than ever. What i used to loose weight was Turbo Jam, i used HipHop abs after, to gain abs.

Also, go on a diet, start with a minor one and build your way. Don't want you hitting a plateu.

What do you like Hip/Hop or Rap?

Theres a diffrence

Hip/hop stays true to the streetz. They have gangs, guns, respect all that stuff

Rap just does what it cans to make money. They talk about how much money the have and how they're pimps,

Me i like Hip/hop

i love hip hop!!!!
REAGAETTON !!!! and SALSA
rap cause it has the bad *** rhymes
i perfer neither. i likejayz because of his beats and what-not. but other than that, i don't like either.
I prefer hip hop. All rap does is poison the minds of the youth of today. It has no point and constantly endorces violence, sex, and drugs. Hip Hop songs have meaning like maybe a moral to the song. Rap is just ridiculous.
Neither.

Why do people think there can't be "fake" Hip Hop?

ummm hell yeah there can be fake rappers. Would you say that Kevin Federline is "real" Hip Hop? What about Vanilla Ice? Or even worse, Tila Tequila? If you think for one minute that they should fall under the Hip Hop umbrella, than you're crazy. YES- there are fake rappers out there who don't know shiz about Hip Hop culture, history, genre, technique, skill and call themselves Hip Hop.

Why do people think there can't be "fake" Hip Hop?myspace

fake rappers isnt the same thing a fake rapper can be someone who lies on records about what they do but for these people to still want to rap doest make them fake it just makes them different to what ur expecting from a hip hop artist but it doesnt mean they're fake and to not know means u wish to be educated and just because their music dont appeal to u dont mean they dont know anything about the skill technique culture or history they're just doing something they love/like to do isnt that what hip hop is about self expression thats just the way they choose to express themselves

Why do people think there can't be "fake" Hip Hop?myspace icons myspace.com

"all them cats u named was wack"- and wack don't equal fake
I agree. Let's use Vanilla Ice for example. He lied and said he was "from the streets" and acted as though he was "down", come to find out he was from the Suburbs and knew nothing about the Hip Hop culture. That, in addition, to his exaggeration of the black culture, they he talked, walked, used slang, even the way he wore his hair. It was all fake yo! That makes him a fake rapper and his music fake Hip Hop. Straight up. K-Fed ain feelin Hip Hop. He just woke up one morning bored and decided he gone put out a CD and of course he had the financial backing from Britney.. haha.

I think by TODAY'S standards, anything goes. That's why ppl ain trippin over K-Fed and if Paris Hilton wanna put out a rap CD, noboday trips because today's standards are so freakin low. Vanilla Ice and others of the same, got straight backlashed against back in the early 90's. Vanilla Ice was a joke back then. Why? Because being a good lyricist and good skill was mandatory back then.

And I agree lyin should fall under fake too, BUT you gotta understand sometimes peeps don't necessarily be lyin, but they tell "stories" inspired by the hood. If they really did cap somebody out, they would be fool to "admit" it to the public, don't you think?
It is because Hip Hop is Hip Hop. Theyre is bad Hip Hop but it is still Hip Hop nonetheless.
I agree! Everyone can classify it however they want, but I know the difference between what's real and what's not. If they want to include K-Fed and others like him as Hip Hop, fine. But I don't and will never consider Hip POP artists as Hip Hop. Yes, that goes for 50 cent, Soulja Boy etc... so it has nothing to do with race.

****REAL**** HIP HOP RIGHT HERE:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVYwcXMyL...
lol..Hip Hop is Hip Hop. i dont know Kevin Federline or Tila Tequila personally, so i dont know what they do or dont know about the "hip hop culture", history, genre, or any of that other shyt u talkin about
all them cats u named was wack they one hit wonders, pop rap or wat eva u wanna call it, like tha boul before me said fake rap could just be a ***** lyin on his tracks just like 50 cent, like how u cappin cats still if u live in a million dolla manison

I feel the same way. Rap/ Hip-Hop is my favorite choice of music, but lately Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Papa Roach, upon other rock artist has been downloaded to my Ipod. I don't think that rap is being corrupted or anything but I just decided to widen my variety of music.

Over commercialization to the point were creativity is being lost.
rap never died just the flame in some people. and they find that some people like this and it gets played more they have to listen to it to be popular which is unloyal.

no music ever dies never.
I love rap but if you noticed radio stations are only playing "#1's". It might help if you buy CDs or and iPod or something of that sort. I'm gettin tired of da radio so i bought an iPod. If you like rap enough you might like some old school junk like Ice-T OG the original gangsta.

Why is hip hop dead in new york?

why is hip hop suddenly falling apart especially in new york does anyone have a good answer?

Why is hip hop dead in new york?myspace pictures

Because its commercial. If you dont have catchy hooks or a markable image your basically not going to sell. In New York where it started radio stations play the same songs over and over you got djs taking money under the table from artist in return for more spins. In the beggining Hiphop was done for fun and if you made money then it was a plus Now its all about money.

Why is hip hop dead in new york?scroll boxes for myspace myspace.com

because people dont want real hip hop any more, they just want trendy stuff like hos, cars, money, booty, and drugs

they want poor excuses for hip hop like lil wayne and souljah boy

im not dissin the south , because outkast, UGK,and little brother are dope and they are from the south
Yo coz i left d newYRK bro
It is??? Yeheay that's it I'm moving back to New York!!!

Ahem. If what you're saying is true, then I think it's because most african-americans prefer to live in california or florida than in new york. it gets really cold in new york during the winter, and also the people there are really serious in their business. there's very little time to sit back, relax, and think of a nice phrase you can turn into a rap song. most underground bands in new york know each other, and i think it would be really awkward if a rapper hip-hopper pops up to perform with them.
Because Master P took it from NY in the late 90's and brought it to the South.
www.endoftheweak.com

they've been holding down the underground scene in NYC for 7 years.... it ain't NYC unless its EOW

peep it. They do mad concerts, open mics, and mad albums.
Hip-Hop is dead everywhere, EVERYWHERE, North, South ( yes the south, hip-hop does NOT live in the south) its dead, ( not dead as in you dont hear it, but the quality is dead, therefore its DEAD) as i say, these crappy "rappers" are just disrespecting what the greats have tried so hard to establish, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, Run DMC, Blackstar ( bassically) Mos Def and Talib Kweli, Jay-Z Eric B. %26amp; Rakim. they are pissing on hip-hops grave and essentially on the graves on those who have died and remained true to hip-hop. You wanna hear true hip-hop? Listen and Compare what true hip-hop is:

-Nas- "It Aint Hard To Tell"- Illmatic- excerpt

It ain't hard to tell, I excel, then prevail

The mic is contacted, I attract clientele

My mic check is life or death, breathin a sniper's death

I exhale the yellow smoke of buddha through righteous steps

Deep like The Shinin', sparkle like a diamond

Sneak a uzi on the island in my army jacket linin

Hit the Earth like a comet, invasion

Nas is like the Afrocentric Asian, half-man, half-amazin ( i loveee this line! it aint hard to tell =D)

Cause in my physical, I can express throuh song

Delete stress like Motrin, then extend strong

I drank Moet with Medusa, give her shotguns in hell

Honestly, Hip-Hop is dead, just listen to the greats and what theyve left us with, thier legacies in the form of hip-hop. =/
Cause you have alot of young rappers coming into the game who don't know anything. They wanna be like somebody else jeu get the money and bling. They don't have real talent. Then other young people give them too much props then all the great rappers fade to the background.

TOP 10 hip-hop artists of all- time? Do you agree if not tell me your reason and be detailed.?guy myspace

10 Kool G Rap -- sure didn't have mass appeal but his lyrics were excellent...even with a lisp

9 Ice Cube -- the best lyricist on a ground-breaking group. Singlehandedly brought the West Coast into the scene

8 ATCQ (A Tribe Called Quest)--yeah, I know they're a group but their beats, creativity, lyrics and overall style make them premier

7 LL -- yeah, he had some real misses but his total body of work, diversity and staying power...he's one of the best for the longest period of time

6 Eminem -- the best storyteller in rap after Biggie. Can paint a sharp picture and a mix of humor and gulliness. Blew up on the scene and never looked back

5 Pac -- I'm sure everybody is screaming, "Pac is the best!" Have you actually listened to his lyrics? Never mind the whole package, I'm talking strictly verbal skills. He's great; one of the greatest but my top 4 are just better

4 Nas -- his first album may be the most complete ever. Each track a certified hit. Listen to "One Love." Sheer genius.

3 Rakim -- the man before his time. Put up any of his rhymes against anyone and more than likely, he's winning. "Microphone Fiend" is the hard and the amazing thing...it's only one verse!!

2 B.I.G. If Bigg had lived he would be the nicest that ever lived. He had only a few albums and people will play his songs forever. He's Hip-Hop's Bob Marley or Elvis.

1 Jay-Z Everytime you listen to his rhymes you pick up something new. A little history: Jay didn't want to be a rapper. He started out a DJ for Original Flavor and always wanted to be a producer. He made a deal with Def Jam that they'd give him a label but he had to give them 7 albums. What did he do? One a year...without writing them down. His analogies and similes are unbelievable. He can rhyme about anything and make it witty. If Jay-Z is on a song, it's a hit. Period!

Eric B and Rakim

Kurtis Blow

Sugar Hill Gang

RUN Dmc

LL Cool J
Okay I agree that LL Cool J, Eminem, Ice Cube, Nas, Biggie, and Pac should be on there but If they are gonna put some old school rappers on ther then they should add Run DMC, Hammer, SirMixalot, Will Smith(can't forget about the fresh Prince) Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs %26amp; Harmony etc...Im not a big fan of Jay-Z but I do like some of his older songs.
Eminem #9? That is truely wack!
Damn????

What about run D MC, kool Herc, beastly boys, common, the roots, Wu tang.......and the list goes on....
2Pac, #1, the rest can fall behind him wherever they want to. That's the end of it.
I don't completely agree with your list. What about female hip hop artists. Like Janet Jackson, Pattie Labelle, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin. And on this list, in my mind 2 Pac was the greatest artists of all time. So why is he #2 to Jay-Z. Pac is #1.
10. Notorious BIG

9. Africa Bambata

8. Public Enemy

7. KRS-ONE

6. Ice Cube

5. Eazy E

4. Big Daddy Kane

3. RUN DMC

2. Nas

1. Tupac
You really can't argue with this list because the top 3 artist are interchangeable. I would have Pac as # 1 though. 2pac was such an incredible artist that at times he would have you believing in things that totally went against what you believed. I think the whole thug image is really wack, but when I pop in a Pac CD, I'm less inclinded to believe this. I'd also replace Em and Big Daddy Kane with Andre 3000 and Scarface. Thats my opinion though.
These are for the most part all different styles of hip-hop or rap, so its hard to say who is better, eminem should not be number 9, should be at least 3rd on the list. and LL cool J may be in the top 25.

UGK = real hip hop from the south?

You think these guys are legit? i'm just tired of all the yung jocs, jeezys, lil wayne, shop boyz, franchize boyz, and all the garbage rap that comes out of the south. i like the southern sound of southern hip hop, but i don't like how most of them rap about absolutely nothing, or make up some dance just to have 1 hit song. UGK has to be something good if they have guests like talib kweli, big daddy kane, kool g rap, outkast, and scarface on their new album.

Why is hip-hop represented by corporate whores who know nothing of the culture?

sub-question-how do these so called "artists" get away with representing everything contrary to hip-hop idealism i.e. wearing diamonds, supporting child labor on a monumental level by owning thousands of pairs of sneakers, and doing ****** coke commercials and ****?is everything about money and aesthetic appearence to everyone nowadays?

bonus question-how many people in Funky 4?

Why is hip-hop represented by corporate whores who know nothing of the culture?band myspace

Bingo! You said it....Money. That's why they call it the "music INDUSTRY," or "music BUSINESS"

Funky 4 is 4+1

Why is hip-hop represented by corporate whores who know nothing of the culture?celeb myspace myspace.com

Hip hop and rap died with biggie and tupac, and so did the ideals therein.
listen its a fantasy world now, we all know. nobody cares. we dont listen to 70's music anymore, well i never did. as we get older we like new things
yes, it is all about money...back in the day, hip hop was about expressing how you feel, and it usually was some kind of shitty urban living situation. Then there became a market for rap and a bunch of rappers got rich. Then all the other aspiring hip hop artists saw how the old school fellas changed their situation...and said I want to be like that, so its all become about getting the phattest sneaks and biggest diamonds.
i think you're talking about rap stars...true hip-hop ARTISTS represent meaningful things.
The same thing is going on with punk rock. All of these so called "punk" bands don't know anything about real punk rock. I bet most of them have never heard of Johnny Thunders, GG Allen, or Wayne Kramer.

To answer your question, the problem is that the consumers don't care about ideals. They care about what is cool, and so, the labels look for musicians/rappers/people that they feel can convey that look, so they can sell more music. These people are more like spokesmodels than they are artists.

Oh yeah, there were 5 people in Funky 4.
Is it because you hate it every time a black person becomes more and more succesful everyday. You just have to accept that they are better than you

Why do Americans vilify Hip Hop culture?

Why do people vilify Hip Hop culture?, when it is the only new form of music created in the last 50-100 years and the only form of art (Graffitti) that has been accepted and practiced by the majority of the world. Hip Hop isn't vilified in other countries like it is in the u.s.

Why do Americans vilify Hip Hop culture?myspace.com quizzes

It's vilified the majority of older white america because they are to ignorant to research and learn how the culture started and evolved, black people are at the forefront sometimes to our detriment of music creation but we allow outside influences to corrupt it and in turn we are left with a musical mess. Take the culture back to the streets and out of the boardrooms where white america dictates what gets promoted.

Why do Americans vilify Hip Hop culture?www myspaces myspace.com

Snoop dogg got banned from Europe. I think they're more into techno.
Because people who support it are incredibly ignorant?

"when it is the only new form of music created in the last 50-100 years"

Outside of rock, R%26amp;B, big band jazz, classical jazz, fusion, acid jazz, hard rock, metal, disco, house, raggae, techno, etc.

"the only form of art (Graffitti) that has been accepted and practiced "

I.E. made illegal

"Hip Hop isn't vilified in other countries like it is in the u.s."

Maybe because it hasn't begun to dumb down their society yet.
Guess the same why the vilify country music and rock
they dont have no rythem
To many Americans, "Hip Hop" looks, acts and sounds like "Gangstah". When someone is dressing and behaving in a way that glorifies thug life, is it really such a shock that non-thug Americans might dislike such a "culture"?
Sorry kid, you have no idea what you are talking about. Grown up Canadians do not generally care for hip hop or the culture that comes with it, just like in the U.S., it's a kid's venue.
I agree with Masterm.
Hip Hop is the new Rock and Roll, which was also vilified in its time.
Maybe it's because, unlike hip hop culture, other musical genres don't have as much crime, gang violence, and lack of respect toward women associated with them.
Because the people here who commit drive by shootings and promote gang violence look like, act like and talk like the the hip hop "artists".

Whats goin on with hip hop?

I say true hip hop in mass media is a pipe dream. Dumb monkey *** morons like lil john rule the airwaves to the point where if you make quality music and intelligent rap, you are considered "under ground. Is hip hop dead or do you think there will be a time when we will see amazin musicians like "Blakalicious" and "Deltron 3030" make the big bucks?..your thaughts please.

Whats goin on with hip hop?myspace songs

good hip hop has always been underground. artists like mos def and blackalicious go against the grain and make rhymes and positive hip hop their mission - the point of commercial hip hop is to please the masses easily and efficiently - hence the radio. as for the big bucks question - i don't think money is the number 1 thing on their mind. with their music hitting fans like you, their job makes it all the more worthwhile.

Whats goin on with hip hop?myspace.com blog myspace.comside note: the last guy ranting about how hip hop = the ills of all society probably blamed marilyn manson for what happened at columbine. don't listen to him because the uneducated do nothing but put the blame on others and breed hatred. that's my 2 cents for the day. and thanks! Report It

why are u hating on lil john? he makes some great music
Like everything. It sells, it's mainstream, it doesn't it's indi. Theater, Music, Movies... everything.
My son is an up and coming hip hop artist whose lyrics are REAL, deep, and thought provoking. :) And I know there are many other artists out there like him. Just gotta keep your ears open.
As an original B-boy from when hip hop first started iI have to say the industry has went to hell in a hand basket. Nothing is original anymore and how many different ways can you rap about smokin' bud or shotting somebody? The only good thing about hip hop is the *** shakin'
Nearly all hip hop today is r%26amp;b or dance. One dimensional shallow drivel for the masses. All the videos of 'em in limos with girls in the pool? Jesus! People like Chuck D have to work so hard to get heard when he's talking about REAL subjects, it's wrong. How many people know Paris is still recording? Not many I suspect.
I think that a young white man, you should be horrified at the cultural poison that being foisted off as "music". First, let's get some terms straight. Rap is not music, it's noise. Hip hop is the bastard stepchild of rap, a watered down version, to make it's cultural poison more palatable to non urban law abiding youth. It glorifies rape, murder, criminal behavior and the ghetto criminal culture. It has no place in polite company, and anyone with any sort of moral upbringing should reject this poison without hesitation. I believe it was Lena Horne (ask your grandpa. She's a gourgeous black actress and singer from the forties) that said that she wouldn't take rap to a dog fight.

If you feel anger and outrage at the circumstances we, as a nation find ourselves in, then there are plenty of culturally appropriate musical expressions to reflect this outlook. Punk rock comes to mind, in particular Green Day.

The day will come when when you will need to make a decision about what side you are on, the side of loyal Americans, or the side of the disloyal urban criminal element. Believe me when I tell you that these hip hop and rap animals would not think twice about spilling your guts on the pavement, and passing your sister around for their pleasure simply because you are not, and never will be, a true member of their gutter society.

In the mean time, have a long, honest look at yourself, who you are, and where you want your life to go. I sincerely doubt that you look forward to the day when you kill your first police officer, or do your first stretch of hard time. These are the values that rap and Hip Hop celebrate, as well as misogeny, hate, and perversion.

The only "commercial" MC i like. No amazing lyrics or strong message here, his music is just so plasant to listen to (isn't that what it's all about?) + He's a legend

5. Raekwon

This one was hard but Raekwon gets the final spot for creating an absolute jewl of an album with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. If you listen to this CD all the way through you'll experience an almost cinematic experience - it's just so utterly entertaining...
5. Snoop Doggy Dogg

4. Eminem

3. Jay Z

2. Nas

1. Ice Cube

How DMX made your top 5 i'll neva know.

Whatever happened to conscious hip hop?

I remember when rappers were doing the knowledge. Dropping jewels on microphones for the kids and older people trying to maintain in life and keep their head up. Hip Hop is more about females dancing in videos, looking scandalous and skank! Even the Black Eyed Peas went commercial when they put that female in their group. I remember when it's all guys just 3 of them 1998, "That's the joint that's the jam!" just for an example. It's like no one wants to talk about reality, or what they've went through in life. Waking up the conscious mind of people. I honestly wish conscious rap would come back and we can throw all this teeny bop hip hop out the window. I want to send shout outs to KRS-ONE, Gangstarr, GZA of the WuTang clan, Common, Kanye West, Scarface, Ice T, Rakim, Juvenile, Chamillionaire, E-40, MosDef, TwalibKweli, Ice Cube, and rappers from Texas holding it down and on the west coast as well.

Whatever happened to conscious hip hop?myspace co

I don't know. Rap really went down the crapper! I think it started with the whole gangster rap craze. No one wanted to be viewed as "soft." Kids today have an extreme level of selfishness, apathy and disrespect that is spurred on by today's rap. My personal fav. rap song from the conscious movement era was Ed OG and the BULLDOGS, with Be a Father to Your Child. I think they need to rerelease that song for today's men.

Whatever happened to conscious hip hop?myspace jokes myspace.com

Conscious rap is still awaiting a true champion to rise to the cause. As soon as a performer can rise who is smart and talented enough, and brave enough to make it accessable (no cursing/vulgarity so mainstream radio can play it), then he or she will bring it back to the forefront.

I cant' wait for that to happen so that pretenders and sell-outs like 50 Cent and Snoop will finally fade into history.
Totally agree..They have to re-release that "old skool" stuff again ! This " new" rap drives me nuts. And I love hip hop...but not this new form of it.

Do you remember when Ice Cude accually rapped ? Man, that was a long time ago. I must be getting old :(
What happened to conscious hip hop? For the most part, it's been relocated to the underground circuit. There's still some good quality hip hop around if you know where to look.

Nas reputation scorn? good hip hop reputation scorn?

what do you guys think after O'reily bland remarks do you think that Nas rep will ever come back? and do you that good hip hop is now looked away because Nas made some powerful songs......

please go here to answer also if Nas is too violent for Vt concert. Hip Hop Experienced is welcomed.

Nas reputation scorn? good hip hop reputation scorn?top 10 myspace

"will Nas rep ever come back?" %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt; where did it go?

in case you didnt know, Bill O'Reilly holds no credibility in the hip hop community.

*So cherrypickin a few words out of about 500 possible songs justifies it? GTFOH......if he wanted to "justify" something he would've played the songs in their entirety so the listeners could hear the actual message being portrayed...you could take a rock song and single out the word kill, or muder, does that justify the WHOLE genre as being bad? .....ignorance breeds ignorance

Nas reputation scorn? good hip hop reputation scorn?myspace.com widgets myspace.com

i never really cared his rep went anywhere i luv him and always will one of the rappers who speak the truth
I love Nas he is a legend, I love his music. But I can kind of see where O'Reilly is coming from, because I like Al Pacino and Quentin Tarantino but I wouldn't invite them to speak at VTech at the concert because they are known for more violent stuff. However, in the end I disagree with O'Reilly because nas has been one of the most positive forces in hip-hop over the length of his career.

If you want to target your Abs Hip Hop Abs is excellent! as long as you keep good form! The Cardio is very good to help keep you in fat burning mode.

They real key to seeing toned abs is Diet. There is no amount of ab work that will fix that and to get the lean ripped look you really need a clean low fat Diet. That is also why I recommend Hip Hop abs because it gives you the extra cardio to burn the fat :)

i advise you to drink green tea 1-3 glasses per day

green tea speeds up your metabolism

drink lots and lots of water 8 glasses each day.

do not snack

do not eat 6 meals a day, try to only eat 3

if you are really hungry and you've had all your daily meals snack on fruits ( oranges, apples, bananas )

exercise more try and run for at least 30 minutes a day

get more active

get more sleep it prepares your body

stretch, yes it works and it doesn't just help you lose weight it helps with you're growing to make you a little taller

count your calories try to stay under the amount of 1300 calories per day

change you're lifestyle it makes a difference

do not eat candy or chips eat more greens or protein bars

avoid fast food and cut out fried food when you cook your meal oven cook your food do not fry it

chew gum because when you chew gum you do not pick at food for example if theres some chips in you're cupboard you go to them a think good damn they look good then you would say no i cant pick at them because i dont wanna throw my gum away

do not eat after 6pm because before 6pm you can burn all you're food off and if you eat after six it will lay on you're stomach as you eat.

do not eat before you go to sleep

drink a glass of water before you go to sleep

drink plain hot kettle water because it speeds up you're metabolism

do not weigh you're self everyday because it torments you, weight you're self once a week ( every Monday )

good luck!

you can safley lose 2 to 3 lbs. a week

also for abs try, lay on your back, put your hand over your head on the floor you can even hold on to something heavy to keep you down and then lift your legs up and down it burns but it works really good! %26lt;3

i liked hip-hop abs better!
I am currently doing P90X and I absolutely love it! Keep in mind it will take 90 Days and sometimes you don't even see results for the first 30-45 days. But if you want to make a lasting change P90X is the way to go.

I cannot speak about Hip Hop Abs, as I have not done it. But I love P90X, can't say enough about it.

P90X works, because of something called muscle confusion. There is a different work out for every day of the week. Your body won't know what hit it.

Hope this helps.

Old school hip hop/pop experts?

This might be a difficult question cause it's kinda hard to explain, but I've been trying to figure out this song forever!

I believe it's from the late 80s/early 90s, and it has some hip hop in it, but the chorus is mostly like a trumpet (or maybe saxaphone) playing, and it sounds like in the middle of it they're saying something like "funky, funky"...lol! I dunno, it's just want it sounds like they're saying! I heard the song quite a few times over the years, and it's really bothering me what it's called. If anyone can help I would realy appreciate it! Thanks!

i have been dancing since i was 2 and i am 15 now. I want to take classes during the summer and also during the year too. So i live on long island new york but can take classes in the city also. So if u know of any hip hop classes i can take during the summer [summer program/classes] or can jsut take randomly this year or ANYTHING would be amazing. Im looking for real hip hop...not cheezy classes, because that is what my studio does and i know i can do better. Also i am a teenager and like teachers that welcome that. But thanks so much for any information...

If you're serious, go to Broadway Dance Center, especially if you live near NY! Every dancer should experience BDC at least once haha. It's the premier dance center in NY, basically parallel to The Edge and Millenium Dance Complex in LA. All the teachers are famous. I'm dead serious. I've attended their convention, The Pulse, and took hip hop class from Shane Sparks, Cris Judd, and Dave Scott, who choreographed Step Up 2. They are amazing. Check BDC out!

Hip hop requires a real flare. You just can't dance the moves, you need to feel it. This takes experience and time.

If its a beginners class and with other beginners-you should be fine. But you must, must, must have a look at the class before you pay any money. Make sure that the teacher and the dance studio are good.

Good luck with finding a class! Hope this helps :)

you can try expertvillage.com

they have good stuff for beginners
wat i do is just here a song and go with the beat i get dance stuff from different music videos and dance im actually good now
It depends on the class. I have danced for 10 years now and for me hip-hop isn't hard. If you take a begginer class you could probably catch on quick. If it is more of a class for people that have been dancing for a while you might have a harder time. Just check into the class and see who will be attending. I hope this has helped.
it mostly depends if you have rythym and you can make your own moves your style..try it!

-good luckk%26lt;33
You will start out in a beginners class which is structured for people who don't have any/much dance experience and here you will be taught the basics and gradually move on to more difficult steps. You'll be fine!
it helps if u hav good cordination..... i joined a while ago but ihad been dancig for 7 years.

giv it a go you might enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!
