All I can say is that Nelly has represented for Hip Hop in a major way by standing up for himself, and I support his views 100%.
Parenting starts in the home first and foremost!
Secondly, I'm tired of being a society that has to live up to the standards of another race. We are not accomplished until we adjust, adapt, and conform to the standards of the white man. A person of color can be educated without changing every aspect of their culture! Every other race has a culture that is acceptable but everything within our culture is looked upon as something that we should be ashamed about. (i.e. food - chicken, style of dress - baggy, slang, etc.)
Playboy has built an entire empire off of naked women and it is respectably accepted - - but put a black girl with “junk in her trunk” on television and its a disgrace!! Stop blaming Hip Hop for the problems of America and blame parenting. Old school parenting has disappeared, what happened to the mama’s who would slap the taste out of yo mouth for cussing, dressing provocative, having premarital sex? If I ever get into trouble, I’M BLAMING IT ON HIP HOP!! LOL
I can't wait for part 2 to come on tonight!! :)

Overall, it was a great show. Parenting does start in the home. The way children acts isn't based on the fact that they listened to a few hip hop lyrics. It's the fact that parents don't take the time to actually explain things to their children. Hip hop shouldn't be blamed for the way kids, teens and even adults act today. Just because artists say things in their lyrics doesn't mean that people have to go and do those things. Like in some music, when the artist talks about killing someone...that DOES NOT mean that you have to go out into the world and think it is okay to do things like that.
Hip hop is a form of music. I love hip hop...I mean, I love music in general. It's a form of music that will never go away...whether some people like it or not.
On an ending note, people shouldn't find something else to put the blame on...especially music.

NELLY was awesome last night!
He had very good points!
Hip Hop is NOT the cause of what's happening in America.
But, I must say that Hip Hop is not what it used to be, when people told stories and it wasn't about 'shoot em up' and 'gettin' money'. But, that doesn't mean that I'm gonna blame everything on HipHop. When I was younger, like 11/12...I listened to JaRule and the whole Murda Inc. music group. There was a LOT of cursing and what not, but I never even cursed or shot anyone after listening to it. That is proof that it depends on the maturity and the common sense of the listener of HipHop music.
I thought he was very very good.He did really well and represented us younger folks great. He was very intelligent with his answers and I agree with you about everyone blaming rap music for the problems of the younger generation. I mean look at Metal music some of it is just as violent as rap,but rap music with the exception of Marylin Manson gets blamed for almost everything.
