If there weren't garbage rappers to promote there would be no garbage to promote! Don't blame corporate america for trying to make their paper. If I found a bunch of idiots to make complete fools out of themselves at the expense of hip-hop and todays youth i'd probably try to make billions off of them too. Why? Because my kids need to eat too! And if I can sit back and let you make that money for me and get a good laugh in the process why not? It just so happens that the crap on the radio no matter how shallow and ignorant sells. And that's what matters in hip-hop today and these little dumb teenie boppers are all falling for it.

Well thats the safest answer, cos everything that is wrong with hip hop could be traced to comercialization of it, but hip hop is a husle, and people husle to get profit, so even if it means dumping down their content, its just getting too rediculous though, gosh dang, this cats r even raping about lip gloss this days
I disagree. Hip Hop killed itself. Artists sell out for money and originality and actually meaning in hip hop is gone. The only way you get success with hip hop now is by making up some kind of lame dance and writing their whole album around it. Now I do like some hip hop but I care less from all this walk it out, pop lock and drop it and 2 step crap. You don't need 7 people in one song to make it a hit. Too many artists are featured in one song.
Who Killed Hip Hop???

Hip Hop as a music is still alive. Nas, Mos Def, Little Brother, Common and so many more keep it alive musically.

Hip Hop as a culture and business is dying though because of fans, artists, music videos, images, BET, MTV, and Corporate America.. it's a piece of everyhting involved
We consumers killed hip-hop. As long as we keep buying crappy hip-hop that's what we are gonna keep getting. We need wake up and start supporting good music. That's the only way to save hip-hop.
Puffy %26amp; Master P killed the radio, and the internet killed everything else.
Bling bling, ka-ching ka-ching, its all about greed and gettin my ring!
Hip Hop is dead and people are just playing with its corpse at this point. I think it committed suicide. I mean look at how it demeans women and tells men to have sex and ignore their responsibilites all for the "money" and "fame." Everyone is sick of that.
ipods killed hip hop...how do i know..cuz i was there..i remember bac in the day wen mixtapes were really tapes
all these wack @ss artists like dj unk lil mama and people like that are killing hip hop with all this club and bubble gum music thats what mostly gettin radio play and i think its a digrace to the rap game, ever since tupac died that when hip hop went down hill.
Hip-Hop ain't dead - it's alive and well in the ATL.
hip hop ISNT dead. it got even more popular this century
Everyone in the southside except for T.I. and Lil Wayne but he should just stick to rap.
